What makes a lifetime player?

The violin is an adaptive, versatile instrument that fits into every musical style, from Baroque to Rock. Yet most people who studied violin are no longer playing today. Our fiddle and violin curriculum focuses on creating students who will continue playing long after lessons are over.

We're always seeking to improve by learning from the violinists and fiddlers that are still playing their instruments.

The Fiddle Fitness Program asks questions like:

  • How good of a violinist do you need to be to enjoy playing as an adult?

  • What skills do recreational violinists have?

  • What are the settings most violinists play in?

  • How important is sight-reading?

  • How important is ear-training?

Help Us Learn

The survey will measure a number of skills and compare the results to how these participants play on a day-to-day basis.

If you are a violin or fiddle player, we would love to have you participate in this survey. We'll keep you posted with the results.
